Job Summary
The Assembler I supports assembly and packaging operations by assembling, inspecting, and packaging products in accordance with established quality and safety standards. This position works in a controlled Class 7 clean room environment and requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to maintain productivity while following detailed work instructions.
The Assembler I will also cross-train and rotate between multiple workstations to support production needs.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble components accurately and efficiently according to detailed work instructions, drawings, and specifications.
Perform packaging operations including bundling, wrapping, heat sealing, vacuum sealing, labeling, counting, visual inspection, assembly, and cleaning.
Cross-train and rotate between multiple workstations to support production requirements.
Communicate and collaborate with Supervisors, Production Leads, and team members.
Verify parts and materials for accuracy before beginning assembly.
Identify and remove defective materials and report part, tooling, or equipment issues to supervision.
Follow established safety procedures and PPE requirements.
Perform work in a Class 7 clean room environment, following all gowning and contamination-control requirements.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
0–2 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to inspect, sort, compare, count, and verify products for accuracy and quality.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to perform basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Ability to identify and resolve routine problems in standardized situations.
Ability to safely handle cleaning agents, including alcohol-based solvents, according to established procedures.
Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous clean room experience.
Experience using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
Manufacturing quality inspection experience.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and 5S practices.
Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Frequent use of hands to handle small components and tools.
Ability to perform repetitive/similar operations for 6–8 hours.
Ability to sit and stand for 6–8 hours.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
Ability to perform close-up visual inspection tasks for 4–6 hours.
Work is performed indoors in environmentally controlled and clean room environments.
Required PPE may include smocks, gloves, hairnets/full-face covers, shoe covers, and safety-toed footwear.
