Design Plus Gallery presents a Pair of Versailles Balloon Chairs from Restoration Hardware. In a grand chteau of 18thcentury France, the porter, stationed by the entrance to admit visitors, would have sat in chairs much like this. They were designed to shelter attendants or keep household occupants warm from drafts. These chairs feature a dramatic, high domed or hooded back, side wings, exposed carved wood frames and classic cabriole legs. They are made with a weathered oak wood frame and paired with Belgian linen. Their style is no longer in production with the brand and in good overall condition for their usage.
