Selectavision CED Videodiscs
Introduced by RCA in 1981, this short-lived format stored video and audio in high-density grooves on a vinyl-like platter, which was read physically by an electronic diamond stylus—essentially acting like an advanced vinyl record player for movies. Because the internal discs were highly sensitive to dust and finger oils, they were permanently sealed inside these protective plastic caddies. The items shown in your image are two-part double-disc feature sets starring Jack Nicholson: One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (Top: Parts 1 and 2) Chinatown (Bottom: Parts 1 and 2)
