A slender palm from northernmost New Caledonia with a bright green, ringed trunk, and a prominent crownshaft that holds a crown of glossy green leaves. It is immediately recognizable by its curious, thickly and densely furry flowers stalks. One of the easier New Caledonia palms to grow, B. hapala will do well in a warm temperate/subtropical garden. Grown from seed by me, locally collected.
