The Nova Alloys driver transports various shapes and sizes of aluminum and stainless structural and flat roll products to and from designated customer and vendor locations in south/central Texas and weekly runs to Mesquite Texas. This position is responsible for always operating the truck and gooseneck trailer safely in compliance with all government regulations pertaining to commercial operations and will provide courteous, professional service to all customers. In addition to driving, this position also requires general warehouse tasks, which include forklift operation, general stocking of material, pulling and packaging orders and loading.
• At least one year of Class A tractor and trailer experience
• Forklift experience and warehouse hand when not driving.
• Gooseneck trailers experience an absolute must.
• Ability to work independently with minimal or no supervision
• Ability to demonstrate proficient use of electronic technology within eight weeks of hire date
• Ability to understand and execute work orders communicated via onboard technology
• Ability to read, write and speak in English sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, and make written entries on reports, required logs and records and other business-related documents
• At least 3 years driving a 30’ gooseneck trailer > 10,000 lbs
• Valid Texas Class A Commercial Driver’s License
• Safe driving record for the past five years
• A valid Medical Card or the ability to obtain one
