Know your way around an automatic screen printing press? J.Carroll is looking for an experienced garment screen printer who takes pride in clean prints, accurate registration, and efficient production.
We’re hiring someone who has personally set up and run automatic presses in a production shop and can bring that experience to our team. You’ll work with professional equipment in a clean, organized shop in San Luis Obispo.
Previous automatic screen printing setup and operating experience is required. We’ll provide orientation to our equipment, procedures, and quality standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
Set up and register single-color and multicolor garment printing jobs.
Adjust press settings, including squeegee pressure, angle, speed, and off-contact, to achieve consistent prints.
Produce test prints and check placement, registration, coverage, and detail before production.
Load and unload garments accurately and maintain a steady production pace.
Identify and correct common printing problems during a run.
Follow work orders and coordinate with our screen printing manager on priorities and job requirements.
Monitor quality throughout production and communicate issues promptly.
Help with job changeovers, routine press care, and keeping the work area clean and safe.
To qualify, you should have:
At least one year of hands-on experience setting up and operating automatic garment screen printing presses in a production shop.
The ability to register and run multicolor jobs independently after learning our equipment and procedures.
A working understanding of mesh, inks, underbases, flashing, and how press adjustments affect print quality.
Consistent attendance, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with a production team.
Your experience must include personal responsibility for press setup and operation. Loading or unloading shirts alone does not meet the experience requirement.
We offer:
A consistent weekday daytime schedule.
Pay that reflects your relevant experience and ability.
Paid vacation and sick time.
Health insurance available.
401(k) matching.
A clean, organized shop where your printing skills can make a direct contribution.
