Setup and Breakdown Operator – LA County Vote Centers (Short Term Contract)
Position Overview
We are hiring Setup and Breakdown Operators to support Los Angeles County Vote Centers for the upcoming election cycle. This is a short term, physically active contract role involving the setup and removal of voting equipment and materials.
Assignments are scheduled throughout Los Angeles County, with efforts made to keep workers within 10 miles of their home when possible, though some days may require travel to multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities
• Attend and successfully complete 2 days of paid training (required)
• Perform setup and breakdown operations at assigned Vote Centers
• Transport, move, and handle equipment and materials
• Follow detailed schedules, logistics plans, and procedures
• Communicate consistently with assigned team leads
• Report issues or incidents during field operations
• Maintain professionalism and adhere to all on site protocols
Pay:
• $22.00/hour – Paid Training
• $25.50/hour – Deployment (after training)
• $10/day vehicle use stipend (deployment days only)
• $1/day cell phone stipend (deployment days only)

Locations: Whittier, CA or Santa Clarita, CA (assignments throughout LA County)
Training Requirement (Mandatory)
• 2 full days – Paid at $22.00/hour
• Pass/Fail: Must pass training to be eligible for deployment

• 9/30 - 10/1
• 10/2 & 10/5
• 10/8 - 10/9
• 10/12 - 10/13
Santa Clarita, CA
• 10/7 - 10/8
• 10/9 & 10/12
• 10/13 - 10/14
Breakdown Deployment
• 11/4, 11/5, 11/6
• 11/7, 11/9 (lighter workload)
✅ You do not need to be available for every date, but broader availability improves selection chances.
⚠️ Important: Deployment days are not guaranteed, and work availability varies by location and project need.
Required Qualifications (Non Negotiable)
✅ Valid Driver’s License
✅ Reliable vehicle (travel between sites may be required)
✅ Personal cell phone (required for assignment app)
✅ Ability to perform physical labor
✅ Ability to attend both days of training
Ideal Candidate Background
Experience in one or more of the following is preferred:
• Warehouse or logistics
• Event setup / teardown
• Moving, delivery, or installation
• Construction or general labor

Dress Code (Strictly Enforced)
Required
• Dark denim jeans or khaki pants (no rips or tears)

• Hats, bandanas, or scarves (religious exceptions only)
• Sandals, Crocs, or open toe shoes
• Loud colors or patterns

• No political discussions or profanity on site
• Follow direction from leads and client staff
• Work efficiently and respectfully
Onboarding and I 9 Verification
• Onboarding must be completed before training
• You cannot attend training without completed paperwork
• Valid I 9 documents are required
