Private virtual lessons. Here's what you can walk away with:
- Learn to create songs like your favorite artists
- Create and release your music to streaming platforms
- Learn to improvise dance music live
- Get hands-on support with mixing and mastering
- Join a growing music community in SF and find opportunities to play live
These lessons are for creating and improvising music with Auwen: auwen.app
Auwen is a livecoding DAW that uses a command line interface for creating music.
How it works:
Lessons are one-on-one, over voice/video in the Auwen Discord. Pick a plan, pick a recurring weekly time slot, and show up.
Single Lesson, $100. Try one lesson with no ongoing commitment.
Weekly Plan, $70/lesson. 4 lessons a month at a fixed weekly time, with Auwen Pro included for as long as you're enrolled.
Founding Cohort, $55/lesson. A locked-in rate for the first 5 students, for as long as you stay enrolled. Once those 5 spots are gone, this tier is gone with them.
A few questions you might have
Do I need any experience? No. Auwen has no music theory prerequisite, and the command line interface is approachable even if you've never touched a terminal before.
How difficult is it? The learning curve is roughly 1 lesson to start making beats, 3 lessons to make a full song, and 5-6 lessons to be performance ready
Are other people using this? Yes we have creators in SF, London, New York, LA, Brazil, Italy and more
What happens after I book?
You'll get a confirmation with your day and time. Download the Discord desktop app, grab headphones and a working microphone, and say hi in #lessons or message me directly right before your lesson.
Can I cancel or reschedule?
Yes, anytime, right from your booking page.

Meet your instructor:
Nes Croft is a musician, artist, and computer engineer from Montana who has written and recorded thousands of songs since a young age starting with folk/rock as a teenager and expanding into experimental pop, IDM, techno, and trance. Nes gained an interest in electronics at age 19 after working at the DIY synth company Synthrotek in Portland, OR. Going on to earn a bachelor's degree in computer engineering at Montana State University. While in college Nes co-founded and developed Vaytricks Beat Machine, a mobile drum machine app that received over 100,000 downloads. 5 years later Nes left Vaytricks to pursue a live performance focused approach to music production and Auwen was born. Auwen is a digital audio workstation featuring a hybrid producer/DJ workflow that allows musicians to perform dance music live using a command line interface. Given the nature of the software, Nes naturally gravitated toward live music events testing Auwen at various electronic music festivals in Montana. Later, Nes joined the livecoding scene in San Francisco and started hosting workshops & live music events at TIAT art gallery and Gray Area in San Francisco in 2025-2026.
