Northside Apartments, Inc. is seeking a reliable, hands-on handyman to assist with apartment maintenance and tenant service requests, as well as property preparation for a well-known real estate brokerage team selling high-end homes in Pacific Heights.
This position combines practical repair work, coordination with outside service providers, and attention to the details that make a home ready to show. We are looking for someone who communicates professionally, takes initiative, and follows through.
The work:
Apartment maintenance and tenant service. Respond to tenant requests, assess problems, and perform routine maintenance and minor repairs within your capabilities. When a job requires a specialist—such as repairing a refrigerator or washing machine—arrange for the appropriate service provider, coordinate access with tenants, and follow up to make sure the work is completed.
Preparing high-end homes for showings. Help ensure properties are presentable and ready for prospective buyers. Tasks include blowing leaves, tidying entrances and outdoor areas, turning on lights, making minor adjustments or repairs, and attending to other preparation details. Coordinate with real estate agents, tenants, and stagers before and around showings.
The right person:
You should have practical handyman or property maintenance experience, good judgment about when to call a specialist, and a courteous, professional manner with tenants, vendors, and clients. Reliability, responsiveness, discretion, and care when working in occupied apartments and high-end homes are essential. You should be comfortable working independently and traveling between San Francisco properties.
Schedule and compensation:
This is a full time, as-needed position with flexible hours, arranged around tenant service needs and property-showing schedules. Workload and hours will vary; this is not a fixed weekly schedule.
Hourly pay: $40 to $45 per hour depending on experience and commitment
