About Godspeed Courier
Godspeed Courier is a locally operated San Francisco courier company providing dependable, time-sensitive delivery service throughout San Francisco and the greater Bay Area.
Our work includes rush, same-day, scheduled, multi-stop and specialty deliveries for businesses and individuals. Items range from envelopes, legal and business documents, architectural plans and secure mail pouches to boxes, equipment and occasional small furniture.
We are looking for a dependable, professional courier driver who can safely manage multiple assignments, stay aware of delivery deadlines, communicate clearly with dispatch and provide excellent service to our clients.
This is a full-time employee position—not an independent-contractor or app-based delivery position. A company cargo van, fuel, tolls, work phone and delivery equipment are provided.
-Schedule
* Typical workweek consists of four scheduled days and approximately 36–38 hours.
* Shifts are generally scheduled between 8:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
* Drivers begin their day by picking up a company vehicle near our San Francisco location.
* After successful completion of the introductory period, qualified drivers may be considered for a take-home vehicle arrangement, depending on performance, operational needs, parking availability and insurance approval.
* Occasional schedule adjustments may be required to accommodate delivery volume and client needs.
-Responsibilities
* Pick up and deliver envelopes, documents, architectural rolls, mail pouches, packages, boxes, equipment and occasional small furniture.
* Complete deliveries within the service windows promised to clients.
* Safely and efficiently navigate San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area.
* Maintain regular communication with dispatch regarding job status, timing, delays and changing priorities.
* Coordinate package handoffs and meetups with Godspeed’s bicycle couriers when needed.
* Use courier software on a company-provided phone to receive assignments, update job status and enter proof of delivery in real time.
* Accurately report waiting time, loading and unloading delays, changes in package weight or size, incorrect addresses and other delivery issues.
* Maintain secure custody and proper handling of documents and packages.
* Communicate professionally with clients, reception staff, building personnel and delivery recipients.
* Troubleshoot routine delivery issues while keeping dispatch informed.
* Safely load, unload and secure items using a hand truck, furniture pads and other provided equipment.
* Keep the assigned company vehicle clean, fueled and properly equipped.
* Report vehicle maintenance, damage and safety concerns promptly.
* Secure all equipment and park the vehicle safely and legally at the end of the workday.
* Maintain a professional appearance and represent Godspeed Courier in a courteous and dependable manner.
-Qualifications
* Valid California driver’s license.
* Must meet the age and driving-history requirements of Godspeed’s vehicle insurance carrier. The current minimum driver eligibility age is 25.
* Employment is contingent upon review and approval of the applicant’s DMV driving record by the company’s insurance carrier.
* Dependable attendance, punctuality and communication.
* Safe, attentive and defensive driving habits.
* Ability to manage time-sensitive assignments and adjust when priorities change.
* Familiarity with San Francisco and Bay Area roads, neighborhoods, traffic patterns, parking restrictions and commercial buildings.
* Comfortable using a smartphone, GPS navigation and delivery software.
* Comfortable remaining in communication with dispatch throughout the workday.
* Ability to repeatedly enter and exit a cargo van, walk through commercial buildings and use stairs.
* Ability to safely lift and carry at least 40 pounds.
* Ability to move heavier items using a hand truck or other provided equipment.
* Professional and customer-service-oriented demeanor.
* Prior courier, route-driving, delivery, logistics or customer-service experience is preferred.

*Starting pay of $22.50 per hour.
*Typical full-time schedule of 36–38 hours over four days per week.
*$300 monthly health stipend, equal to $3,600 annually.
* Company PTO benefits following successful completion of the 90-day introductory period.

Selected candidates will be asked to provide or authorize access to a current California DMV driving record. Continued consideration and employment are contingent upon the driving record meeting the eligibility requirements of Godspeed Courier’s automobile insurance carrier.
