The Sausage Factory, an independently owned Italian-American restaurant in San Francisco’s Castro District, is looking for an experienced server to join our small team. Immediate start available.
We’re a neighborhood restaurant serving longtime regulars and first-time visitors. We’re looking for someone who enjoys making guests feel welcome, takes pride in attentive service, and works well with others.
The position
- Approximately 3–5 shifts per week, depending on business needs and availability.
- Sunday and evening availability required.
- $19.61 per hour—San Francisco minimum wage—plus tips.
- Traditional tip-out structure supporting the team, with tips paid out at the end of each shift.
Who we’re looking for
- Previous restaurant serving experience.
- Friendly, attentive service and clear communication.
- Dependability, punctuality, and follow-through.
- Ability to manage a section and stay organized during busy service.
- Willingness to help teammates and contribute to opening, closing, and side work.
Interested in a more involved role? Previous experience as a lead server, shift supervisor, or floor supervisor is a plus. For the right person, there’s an opportunity to take on additional responsibility supporting the team and helping oversee service.
We’ll train you on our menu, service procedures, and house standards.
