My students are all ages, all backgrounds, and come from all over the world. I currently tutor about nine students, K-12 as well as adults. Most students work with me for 2-3 years or longer. A few students only have short-term needs, for about 6-9 months. Others have worked with me for many years -- in a few cases for decades! -- and many recommend me to their family and friends.
I primarily use Google platforms for tutoring: Google Meet and Google Docs for sharing, writing together, and as a place for you to access our notes, homework (if wanted) and other resources I recommend. This is an excellent, free, accessible resource.

Our first meeting is free, and it's just a short one. All meetings are over Google Meet or Zoom.

FOR KIDS:
I work with your unique child and hear feedback from you on what they currently need, shifting goals, etc. over time. Areas of focus in our work can include reading instruction (phonics and decoding, comprehension, discussion, etc.) as well as essay writing, study skills, reading response, creative writing, and all areas of English work.
I have taught in some of the very top private schools, as well as in public, charter, and even in nature classroom settings. I am very flexible and have a wide range of experiences to draw from. I work with K-12 students and beyond.
My goal is for your child to be empowered through reading and writing, and for your child to find joy in it. We work on this through specific skills that support reading and writing, but also through an appreciation of the books, development of your child's voice, opinions, and perspectives, and appreciation and enjoyment for reading/writing samples ("mentor texts") that I might share. I often work to bolster your child's existing interests (their favorite authors, genres, series, topics, etc.) while also expanding their horizons to similar or brand new areas.
FOR ADULTS:
I have been tutoring adults in English for over twenty years. My students are all ages, all professions, from all over the world. I offer conversation sessions or lessons, and can discuss the difference between those more when we meet.
I support speaking and listening skills, reading, pronunciation and accent reduction, professional writing, conversational English, and more. We often discuss culture as well, or focus on your particular area of expertise (tech, design, culinary, business, etc.).
Many of my students work with me for years. I'm committed to supporting your English goals and how they support your life or career path.
