Entry-Level Assembly Technician — Robotics
Sentien Robotics | San Francisco, CA
Full-time, on-site | $24–$38.50 per hour, plus benefits
About the Role
Sentien Robotics is hiring entry-level Assembly Technicians to help build our Hive platform and related robotic systems as we scale into low-rate initial production.
You’ll assemble mechanical parts, install wiring and electronics, and check completed work using drawings, work instructions, and checklists. You’ll work closely with technicians and engineers, with training and guidance on our systems and assembly procedures.
This is a hands-on production role focused on careful, repeatable assembly work. Daily tasks include preparing parts, assembling subsystems, checking builds, and documenting completed work. This role reports to the Systems Assembly Lead.
What You’ll Do
Assemble mechanical parts and subsystems using hand tools and torque tools.
Prepare, route, and connect cables and wiring.
Install electronics, sensors, motors, and other components following work instructions.
Perform visual inspections, continuity checks, and basic electrical verification using a multimeter.
Gather and organize parts for upcoming builds, and flag missing parts or low stock.
Follow quality checklists and record completed work, serial numbers, and rework.
Identify assembly problems and ask for guidance when instructions are unclear or issues need engineering input.
Keep tools and work areas clean, organized, and safe.
What We’re Looking For:
Familiarity with basic hand tools and hands-on assembly, repair, or building tasks.
Ability to follow detailed instructions and check your work carefully.
Interest in developing mechanical assembly and wiring skills.
Patience and consistency when performing repetitive tasks.
Reliability, clear communication, and willingness to ask questions.
Ability to work full-time, on-site in San Francisco.
Previous assembly, manufacturing, repair, or other hands-on technical experience is preferred, but not required. We also welcome candidates who have developed practical skills through technical training, school projects, or personal builds. Familiarity with wiring, soldering, or engineering drawings is helpful; we’ll provide training on our systems and assembly procedures.
Helpful, but Not Required:
Experience with mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly.
Experience crimping, terminating, routing, or soldering wires.
Familiarity with mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, torque tools, or multimeters.
Technical coursework or vocational training.
Experience in a manufacturing or low-rate production environment.
