Maitri is a non-profit, 15-bed, licensed residential care facility providing dignified and personal care for people with AIDS/HIV and those in transition. Our clients face many challenges in addition to HIV but are resilient and spirited, just need support, including food stability and the comfort and joy found in good food served with compassion. Looking for cooks. Solid cooking skills in a variety of techniques and cuisines including competent baking PLUS good communication skills, patience. RELIABLE, punctual for early a.m. shifts. You are able to work both independently and as part of a team, multitask in the kitchen. Basic computer skills needed for email, timekeeping, and online required compliance trainings. Strong English and basic math skills needed to read recipes, multiply, follow written and verbal instructions and communicate with clients, but Spanish-speaking also a plus. This is a unique setting.
