The stand, not pictured, bears its original brass maker's plate reading "Century Master Studio Stand, Manufactured by Graflex, Inc., Rochester 8, N.Y., U.S.A." — dating it to the Graflex Inc. period, after the Folmer-Century Division of Eastman Kodak was reorganized in 1927 into the independent Graflex Corporation. Both camera and stand are products of the same Rochester photographic lineage, and were the standard equipment of professional portrait studios for decades, producing 8×10 large-format negatives of extraordinary clarity used for formal portraiture, cabinet cards, and commercial photography.
Original finish and hardware throughout. An exceptional display object with complete provenance.
