With our Cow Hollow successfully open and getting raving reviews, The Kaiyo on Union Street is looking to strengthen its Back Servers and support team.
Position Summary
The Back Server supports the front-of-house team by ensuring the dining room operates efficiently and guests receive prompt, attentive service. This position works closely with servers, bartenders, hosts, and kitchen staff to maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked restaurant while assisting with food and beverage service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist servers by delivering food and beverages to guests accurately and promptly.
Clear and reset tables quickly to maintain efficient table turnover.
Refill water, beverages, and condiments as needed.
Polish and stock glassware, silverware, plates, and service stations before, during, and after service.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining room, service stations, and server alley.
Assist with opening and closing side work.
Communicate effectively with the kitchen and service staff regarding guest needs and special requests.
Run food while ensuring each dish is delivered to the correct guest and described when appropriate.
Remove used dishes and glassware throughout the meal to maintain a clean dining experience.
Restock supplies including napkins, to-go containers, sauces, and other service items.
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
Provide friendly, professional, and courteous service to all guests.
Support other front-of-house positions as directed by management.
Qualifications
Previous restaurant experience preferred but not required.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
Frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach throughout the shift.
Lift and carry trays, bus tubs, and restaurant supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
Work in a busy environment with frequent interaction with guests and team members.
