Small - only 11' x 13' slanted ceiling, empty room, easy access, materials on site. Materials chosen to minimalize cuts and mudding/taping.
I need this bid to be under $1K which is all we have. IF you want to return my 5/8" drywall for lighter weight or IF you want to cut up the drywall I have and still give me a smooth no-visible-seams bid, to reduce the cost that is fine. But I cannot afford to return this 5/8" drywall myself as I don't have a truck
This is for a smooth ceiling - no texture and one of the reasons I purchased large drywall pieces - for minimal mud/tape lines to have to be feathered out. Per the drawing, the drywall sizes fit perfectly creating minimal cuts or seams.
Easy installation 23" roll to be stuffed in - you can use minimal staples to keep in place while drywalling if you want and I have stapler/staples.
Easy ceiling painting as color matches walls and I have all paint and painting tools. No joints/mud lines to be visible after painting.
Some drywallers prefer caulking the perimeter and that would be an option I might consider.
Photos should explain everything so, after reading this, PLEASE RESPOND VIA EMAIL WITH A BID and what 2-3 days in a row you are available to do the job. The old tile floor is in place now but new carpeting is being installed in about 12 days.
I am assuming you have all of the tools necessary to complete the job, as I do not - just materials. Also, if you do have a drywall lift, the first 2 drywall pieces can be installed with that. the last one closest to the top can still be used with someone at the upper open 'loft' level floor to aid holding. Also, you can make stud T's to hold up drywall as needed such as the photo attached (also found on YouTube).
Due to the weight of the drywall, this is a two person job as I do not want the very expensive 4 x 8 x 12 5/8" drywall NO cuts width wise, making more seams than necessary. This should make the cutting/taping/mudding MUCH easier. Please see drawing of what I want the layout to be. Joists are already 24" o/c. The 4 x 8 x12 sheets are in mint condition so a smooth finished wall will not be hard to do I do not want any texturing. I want a smooth wall.
Easy access to 8' high wall and even easy access to 15' high slanted top via the open 'loft' room above
ANGLE: 8' high up to 15' high see photo
The taller portion of the ceiling can be completely accessed across the length from the open loft room upstairs
I already have supplies on site:
4 each 4 x 12 5/8" drywall
4 each 4 x 12 2x4's
5 each 4 x 8 2x4's
4 each 4 x 4 2x4's
4 4' 1x4" boards
Shims
2 x 2's
3 ea 25 ft rolls 23" wide rolls insulation
1-1/2 and 1-1/4" drywall screws
1 bag 20 minute mud (you can supply the mud you like and I will reimburse you with receipt)
2 rolls - drywall netting tape
2 - 2 x 4 x 12' studs for wall cleats
Please do not advise why a thinner drywall will work. I know the arguments and I have purposely chosen and have on site 5/8" thickness for 24" wide o/c joists. This is what we are using and I do not want them cut widthwise as they already fit well. Only 5 1" cuts at top and one 12' cut for narrow pieces. That's all of the cuts needed and the only mudding/taping/sanding needed. Straightforward job.
