WHICH LEVEL FITS YOU?
-Starting-From-Scratch: You don't know anything about the guitar or how to play. I’ll get you started with the guitar basics like reading tab and strumming chords. You'll be playing guitar in your first lesson!
-Beginner: You've been practicing for months or years but you're still feeling stuck and you're frustrated with confusing YouTube videos. We’ll clean up your guitar basics focus on all the things that you need to know. You'll learn songs, strumming, and soloing with scales.
-Intermediate: Most guitarists identify with this level. You know the guitar basics and have a short list of songs you're working on, but your playing still doesn't sound good, including clunky strumming and poor soloing skills. Your blues isn't very bluesy. You play a lot of wrong notes and you're often unsure of the key. If this sounds like you, you’re not alone! These issues are common and easy to fix. We’ll work on rhythm counting and strumming, scales (modes), techniques for better soloing, and ways to learn your favorite songs faster - at least one new song every week. You'll be on the way to an advanced level.
-Advanced: You know every note on the fretboard and every common chord, plus most modes and basic scales. You strum decently, you can comfortably play over a dozen songs, and have good technique. But, your soloing isn't that great and you still play bad notes. You're slow figuring out relative keys, you struggle to make your blues sound authentic, and you're intimidated by jazz (extended and altered) chords & theory. You might even be using the exact same strum pattern for every song. Basically, your playing is stale and you're in a rut.

I’m Dan Dresnok - published author and professional teacher with 30+ years of experience. I've worked as a session guitarist, live performer, and I've moderated over 100 guitar clinics. I’ve taught over 50,000 students both online and in-person, specializing in jazz, blues, rock, and music theory.

A: Yes, in fact, they're often better. There's no driving, illness, family, or pet distractions — we can focus completely on guitar.

A: I (Dan) will email lesson PDFs to you during our lessons.
