The large handmade basket, and the small handmade basket, were made and sold by Tarahumara indigenous crafts persons. The Tarahumara (also called the Rarámuri people), are Middle American indigenous people of Barranca de Cobre (“Copper Canyon”), in the southwestern part of Chihuahua state, in northern Mexico. These baskets were originally purchased at an annual Chile Festival in Tucson, Arizona, that featured many Southwestern arts and crafts vendors.

The dimensions of the large basket are: diameter = 13 inches and height = 6 inches. The dimensions of the small basket are: both diameter and height of about 1.75 inches.
