Financial Professionals are an essential service need now, and here’s why…
1. Desired retirement lifestyle vs. savings reality.
According to the Federal Reserve, about two-thirds of non-retirees do not believe they are on track for their retirement goals. The Fed - Report on the Economic Well-Being of U.S. Households in 2024 - May 2025
2. Retirement income expectations vs. actual income sources
Reality: Many retirees depend substantially on Social Security. The Federal Reserve reported that in 2024 Social Security was the most common retirement income source; 78% of retirees reported receiving Social Security income. federalreserve.gov/publications/files/2024-report-economic-well-being-us-households-202505.pdf?mod=article_inline&utm_source=chatgpt.com
3. Healthcare planning gap
Reality: Many Americans expect Medicare to cover most retirement healthcare expenses. Healthcare remains one of the largest underestimated retirement costs. Fidelity estimates that a 65-year-old retiring in 2026 may need to account for approximately $185,500 in healthcare expenses over retirement (for a hypothetical individual with Medicare coverage, excluding long-term care). Many retirement plans do not adequately include medical inflation, prescription costs, and long-term care risks. Despite High Healthcare Costs, More Americans Say They Are Prepared For Retirement
All these factors create an opportunity for Financial Professionals to help families and individuals, while making unlimited income.
