I'm a licensed construction contractor and am open to becoming an RMO and/or mentor for other construction firms in California, in exchange for equity.
I am licensed in California as a general contractor, electrical contractor, plumbing contractor, and HVAC contractor. Being licensed in California allows me to qualify up to 2 other businesses beyond my own, and I am exploring that option. I am not looking for a full-time job, since I already have one; I am looking for an already-experienced person who wants to ultimately be in charge of their own business, but who doesn't yet have the experience or license and might benefit from my input on the tough questions that come up as one learns how to run things, or I am looking for an existing business that wants to add a classification that they have already been growing into, and which would benefit from my trade and code knowledge as a qualifier.
My experience is in single- and multifamily residential and light commercial building efficiency, electrical systems, codes, unitary and central heat pump water heating, hydronic space heating, and contractor law. I have done all stages of contracting from sales and estimating, through construction and closeout, to prevailing wage compliance reporting and post-construction data monitoring.
If you already have experience in your construction trade, and are interested in starting your own firm but are lacking a contracting license, or if you have an existing firm and are interested in adding one of the classifications I hold, please reach out to me to discuss your situation.
(If you do not already have significant construction, architecture or engineering experience, please do not reach out, as I am unfortunately not able to train someone from scratch at this time... I'm looking for a person or business that already has experience, but wants to take it to the next level and add a license.)
