Ours is a vibrant, inclusive community in beautiful Redondo Beach, CA. As we grow, so does our learning community. We are looking for the right person to join our faculty. Our inclusive religious school is a place where children connect with their tradition, with their community, and with one another so that as they grow, they can be confident and proud that their Judaism is an integral part of their identity. We offer a values-based curriculum focused on active learning, community celebrations, and social action.
Candidates should have experience with children and at least a working knowledge of Jewish traditions, customs, and holidays. Ability to read Hebrew is beneficial but not necessarily required. Familiarity with the prayers in the Shabbat service is preferred but we can provide training for the right person. More importantly, the candidate should be enthusiastic, organized, patient, and interested in helping students explore, grow, and thrive, as well as be punctual, responsible, and reasonably savvy with technology. Curriculum is provided, but we are happy to work with the right candidate to bring her or his expertise and interests to our community.
Duties include:
- teaching religious school class on Friday afternoons (Judaica)
- participate in school-wide and community learning and celebrations as needed
- work with the Rabbi-Educator to create and implement lesson plans from a provided pacing guide and materials
- regular communication with parents
- participate in staff meetings and professional development
There is room for growth for the right person as we explore even more facets of engagement - from youth programs to our summer camp and beyond.
