The Sulcata Rescue Ranch located in Ramona on 1.5 acres ALWAYS has several healthy sulcata and desert tortoises available to adopt to good homes. Because I partner with Fish and Wildlife, all the animal shelters, and Animal Control, I also get in Russians, Greeks, Hermann's, box turtles, etc. And...there is never an adoption fee as long as you qualify. I'm all about finding great long term homes for these critters.
