I bought this student bassoon from Agility Winds / Tempest Instruments based in San Antonio, Texas. I always wanted to play the bassoon and thought that this would be a great instrument to start on. Boy was I right. I have since become pretty good at it and upgraded to a more professional horn. This horn is perfect for middle / high school students who are starting the bassoon but don't want to spend 3k (minimum!) for a bassoon. It has all the things that a new bassoonist will need - neckstrap, high D key (they don't really need that, but it's fun), whisper lock and two bocals. The horn plays pretty well in tune bottom to the top, has a good sound, and is worth the price.

Then, once your student gets good at it, they can upgrade and pass it on to the next new bassoonist :).
