Up for sale is this Snipe Class sloop.
She's in pretty decent condition - no cracks in the fiberglass hull. The mast is tapered aluminum and in good condition. Assembled weight is around 300 pounds.
The chined hull features an air bladder below deck making it for all practical purposes unsinkable. It's also self bailing - so no need for that sawed off Clorox bottle rolling around and therefore room for a couple extra beers. Most of the blocks are stainless steel Harken blocks made in USA. It has a depth adjustable aluminum dagger board for cross wind stability. There are four padded foot straps for running hard across the wind. The boat cover works mast mounted and dismounted.
The mast and boom are in pretty good shape though the shrouds are kinked and should be replaced. I think replacing them with Dyneema rope would be a better choice than kink prone stainless cable. There are two sets of North sails - light and heavy wind, bagged and in good shape.
The trailer is a tad weathered looking but in great shape. Tires are about 75% I'd say.
Since the trailered boat weighs around 1000 - 1100 pounds it doesn't require a trailer license in Oregon. I pull it easily behind a four cylinder Ranger pickup.
Ready for fun! Uh, don't forget the sunscreen.Worst. Sunburn. Ever.
Trades?
Here are a few things I'd trade this boat for:
A D18 Martin guitar in playable condition. (Yeah right)
An R60 / 2 BMW motorcycle. (Dreaming is free)
A model 92 Winchester rifle, .357. (Put the pipe down dude)
Thanks for looking!
