Halp!
Meet two young rat pups, Cardamom and Cinnamon. They came into my home as feeders, but my snakes refused to eat them. Normally I’d return them and try with others. But here’s the thing: they’re too sweet and too charming.
Normally when feeders are released from the box they either cling to the inside or run like hell. Cinnamon came out and casually explored. Cardamom walked out—and stopped to introduce herself to me. I pet her and she liked it. That has never happened before!
Neither are biters. Both have kind of a Siamese cat coloration. Cinnamon is the darker one with the banded tail. Cardamom is the lighter one and a total sweetheart who actively seeks my attention and tried to make friends with my cats.
I’ve handled them each at least fifteen minutes a day. Cinnamon is fine with it, Cardamom actively enjoys attention. She does that thing where she settles into me, then explores away from me a little before checking back in for physical contact with me, then explores, then returns, etc., until she’s tired, then comes back and either crawls to my shoulder or hand to clean herself and then sleep.
It’s adorable.
I can’t keep them, I already have too many pets. I’m looking for a loving home. I don’t want them to be feeders, but they will be if I can’t find homes. If it helps, girl rats smell. Perhaps your rats have passed and you’re looking for your next family? Perhaps you have responsible kids who are ready for their first pet? Maybe you’re looking for your classroom? Come meet them if you might be interested.
If I don’t find a home by Wednesday I’ll have to try again with the snakes. The alternative is passing off their death by returning them to the store, and it feels like my responsibility. They won’t use them as pets, only as feeders. Either way, this would haunt me. Please help me. Please save them.
Craigslist email or text only. Text preferred. I’ll take down this add if they find a home or if I’m out of time. Which means they’re out of time.
