Here is an older, purely mechanical dropper seatpost.
No hydraulics, no air spring, no batteries, not Bluetooth. Just a good old mechanical spring & pin lock system actuated by a standard shift cable.
It’s a GRAVITY DROPPER brand Turbo model from the early 2000’s.
31.6mm diameter.
Has 3 positions… fully extended, fully collapsed, & in the middle.
Internal coil spring pushes the saddle up into position when the remote thumb lever is pushed.
Complete seatpost, remote handlebar mounted lever, & inline barrel adjuster included. Saddle rail clamp is complete.
Seatpost can easily be taken apart w/ metric hex keys. It functions but would really be great if disassembled, cleaned, & lubricated. Will need a new cable. It’s just a typical shift cable & 4mm housing.
I got this to use on my Bullitt cargo bicycle to drop the saddle when stopped at long stoplights… but I’ve got too many other dumb projects in front of this… so here it is available to be your new project.
