This is a rare weird one. Likely a production model. Possibly a prototype?
The stem has no handlebar pinch bolt. Instead the bar is press fit into the stem & securely epoxied in place. There is a locating rivet to get the bar sweep in the correct rotated position.
Handlebar is NOT removable.
ANSWER Hyperlite “straight” handlebar w/ 3° sweep. EASTON EA70 aluminum. Factory narrow cross country 23” width - NOT cut down. Bar finish is near perfect.
BONTRAGER stem is 1” threaded. California made era… pre TREK-TRAGER. 120mm length. 90° - no rise angle. Brazed gusset at junction w/ quill. Aluminum expander. Black finish has a few scratches. Decals in OK condition.
Great for your vintage BONTRAGER MTB build. Might be more of a wall hanger display piece.
