Successful, established South Bay commercial electrical contractor seeks a skilled and experienced administrative coordinator to work with our executive team performing a myriad of construction office tasks. We have been in business for over 37 years, and are seeking an experienced individual who wants to help us refresh our organization.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Systems a must
- 5+ years general office experience with at least 1+ year in a construction office preferred
MUST HAVES:

We are in need of a take-charge person who is familiar with office management and administration and has worked in a construction trades office. You will assist with many things, from maintaining and managing birthday and work anniversary calendars, to opening job accounts, assisting with pre-qual packets and writing purchase orders. Then there’s the everyday stuff, processing mail, adding projects, follow-through with staff on completion of tasks, managing time-off request forms. It sounds easy but this is only a small sample of the functions you will be performing. Most importantly, we need someone who can roll-up their sleeves and fit in with our wild bunch of construction professionals who work hard but also know how to laugh and have fun together.
In addition, chosen candidate will:
. Have the ability to interface with all aspects of our business, possess excellent customer service attitude, integrity, timeliness, organizational skills, and be a proficient communicator.
. Be dynamic, motivated, dependable, able to take initiative, maintain confidentiality, and meet deadlines. Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team, manage/prioritize work load and follow through responsibly in a fun and casual environment.
. You will report to our VP Ops and accounting management, and must be the type of person who enjoys working with others as this is a team-oriented position.
. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Outlook and Excel. QuickBooks knowledge, or be willing to learn.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Employee must be in good physical condition; possess good manual dexterity; be able to sit, stand, kneel, and squat; be able to lift at least 25 lbs.; and be able to hear, speak and see within normal ranges (use of corrective devices is allowed). Must be able to drive or have own transportation.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Typical office work conditions in a casual, fun and busy construction office. Will have own workstation, computer, telephone extension, chair, etc. Family oriented company.
