Lionel Transformers: Type 1033 90 Watt Variable Train Controller
Starting to lighten train collection load by selling my Lionel train transformers. Let me know what you need. I also have HO train transformers.
The Lionel Type 1033 train transformers were made 1948-1956. It provides variable voltage from 8 to 18 volts A.C. and is usually used with O Gauge track. This transformer can also operate some Marx and American Flyer trains. Due to it's versatility, it is a highly sought after transformer.
It can has directional control and Includes a whistle or horn control that operates a whistle.
Has connections for accessories such as light towers, street lights, switches, buildings, crossing signals, stations and platforms, etc.
Has three different fixed voltages. Terminals A-B produce 5 volts, B-C produce 11 volts and A-C produce 16 volts. Most operating and illuminated accessories work best at 10 to 12 volts so you’ll likely use terminals B-C. However, if the transformer is heavily loaded with operating the train, you may need A-C for 16 volts.
Has built a built in automatic short circuit breaker which resets after a few seconds. Will open again if reason for short circuit is not corrected.
