Seeking Operating Partner for Equity and Profit Share Opportunity at Established Food & Beverage Business
The remote ownership group of an established Pittsburgh restaurant, bar and events venue is seeking an experienced and decisive hospitality operator to join our partnership, assume leadership responsibilities and help realize the business’s significant potential.
This is not a conventional general manager position. It is a turnaround opportunity for an entrepreneurial operator to receive substantial performance-based profit participation and a defined path to meaningful ownership, without funding a new concept or buildout from scratch.
The successful candidate is a self-starter with hands-on intensity, vision and passion to build something they can own for the long-term. The opportunity requires entrepreneurial risk tolerance as this partner will be the deciding factor in the business' future.
The business has substantial existing infrastructure, food and bar operations, private-event demand, an established local presence and a distinctive physical space. It is fully operational but underperforming relative to its potential. The right partner will have the authority to make changes, improve operations, control costs, strengthen the concept, grow events and revenue and build long-term value.
The ideal partner has:
Ownership mentality and appetite
Significant restaurant, bar, and/or event-venue leadership experience
Direct responsibility for a meaningful operating budget and P&L
A demonstrated ability to improve sales, margins, labor performance and operating discipline
Strong leadership skills and a willingness to be actively involved on site
An entrepreneurial mindset and genuine interest in earning long-term ownership
The judgment to identify what should be preserved, what should be fixed and what should be changed
This opportunity offers modest guaranteed compensation with significant upside tied directly to the operator's efforts and the business' bottom line. It is best suited to someone who has already proven they can run a hospitality business and is now looking for an ownership opportunity rather than another traditional management job.
If you think this opportunity is too uncertain and speculative for you, you are right. You must be willing to invest sweat equity with no guarantee of success. If, however, you've read this and are only getting more interested, and you want to challenge yourself with a a path to partnership, we want, and need, to hear from you.
Additional information regarding the venue, financial performance, compensation structure and ownership opportunity will be provided confidentially to qualified candidates.
