I am an owner-builder constructing a permitted approximately 600 sq. ft. ADU in Phoenix and am looking for an experienced, licensed HVAC contractor or qualified mechanical design professional to assist with an HVAC equipment substitution and City approval.
The original permitted plans have an approved HVAC system. I am considering changing the system to two individual ductless mini-split systems.
The City of Phoenix has requested:
• Complete Manual J calculations
• Complete Manual S calculations and proper equipment sizing
• Documentation of the proposed equipment
• A mechanical design that addresses the required fresh-air/ventilation requirement
• Documentation sufficient for review and approval of the HVAC substitution
I previously had Manual J/S calculations prepared, but the City reviewer determined that the submission was incomplete and requested that the calculations and equipment selection be reviewed again.
I have the approved plan set, the City reviewer's written comments, the previous Manual J/S documents, and the proposed equipment information available.
I am looking for someone who can review the existing information, prepare/correct the required mechanical documentation, and help get the HVAC substitution approved by the City of Phoenix.
Please respond with your experience with City of Phoenix mechanical plan review, license/company information, fee for this service, and whether you can provide the documentation only or require your company to perform the HVAC installation as well.
This is an active permitted project and I am ready to move forward promptly with the right person.
