We are looking for someone who enjoys working with the public, provides excellent customer service, and is comfortable in a busy, high-energy thrift store environment. This position is primarily focused on cashiering, assisting customers, maintaining the sales floor, and supporting daily retail operations.
The ideal candidate is personable, dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work well with customers, donors, volunteers, and staff.

This is a part-time position. We will discuss exact days and hours during the interview process based on store needs and the candidate’s availability.
There may also be opportunities to pick up additional shifts as needed.
---Responsibilities---
*Provide friendly and professional customer service
*Operate the POS system and handle customer transactions accurately
*Answer customer questions and help locate merchandise
*Restock, straighten, and organize merchandise throughout the store
*Help maintain a clean, organized, and easy-to-shop sales floor
*Assist customers, donors, volunteers, and staff as needed
*Help with donations and merchandise
*Support general day-to-day retail operations
*Perform other duties as assigned
---Qualifications---
*Prior experience in retail, cashiering, customer service, or another public-facing role preferred
*Previous POS and cash-handling experience helpful
*Strong communication and customer service skills
*Basic math and reading skills
*Attention to detail
*Friendly, reliable, and able to work well as part of a team
*Comfortable working in a busy environment and interacting with a diverse community
*Interest in Philly AIDS Thrift’s mission and community work
*High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred
---Physical Requirements---
This is an active retail position. Applicants should be able to:
*Spend most of the shift standing, walking, and moving around the store
*Bend, stoop, reach, carry, and climb as needed
*Move and/or lift up to 30 lbs independently
Team assistance should be used for heavier merchandise.
