Experienced Project Manager Wanted
Stoney Oak Painting is a growing painting company looking for a Project Manager who takes ownership of the entire project from start to finish.
We are looking for someone who understands that a successful painting project isn't just about getting the job done — it's about quality, communication, controlling costs, keeping subcontractors accountable, and creating a 5-star customer experience.
If you're organized, detail-oriented, good with people, and take pride in producing exceptional results, we want to talk to you.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage Subcontractors
• Hire and schedule qualified painting subcontractors
• Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with our subs
• Clearly communicate expectations and project requirements
• Provide each subcontractor with the complete Scope of Work
• Review the Scope of Work with the crew before work begins
• Make sure subs understand exactly what is expected
• Make sure all required materials are on site before the job starts
• Monitor materials throughout the project and make sure crews have what they need to keep moving
• Hold subcontractors accountable for workmanship, cleanliness, schedule, and quality
Manage the Customer
• Communicate with customers daily
• Keep customers updated on project progress
• Answer questions and address concerns quickly and professionally
• Confirm all colors, products, and sheens with the customer before work begins
• Make sure the customer understands the Scope of Work and expectations
• Maintain a professional relationship throughout the entire project
Manage the Job
• Make sure the project follows the approved Scope of Work
• Monitor job progress and schedule
• Control job expenses while maintaining the highest quality product
• Identify problems early and resolve them before they become bigger problems
• Inspect workmanship throughout the project
• Make sure the job site remains clean and organized
• Ensure all work meets StoneyOak Painting's quality standards
PROJECT CLOSEOUT
The job isn't finished when the last wall is painted.
You will:
• Conduct a final walk-through with the painting crew
• Create and address any punch-list items
• Make sure all work has been completed to StoneyOak Painting standards
• Conduct a final walk-through with the customer
• Confirm the customer is satisfied with the completed work
• Make sure the property is left clean and ready for the customer

Our Project Manager is responsible for making sure the customer receives exactly what they were promised — with excellent communication, professional crews, quality workmanship, and a smooth experience from beginning to end.
THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS JOB
You should be:
• Extremely organized

• A strong communicator
• Comfortable managing subcontractors
• Comfortable dealing directly with customers
• Able to hold people accountable without creating unnecessary conflict
• Good at solving problems
• Able to manage multiple projects and priorities
• Financially responsible and conscious of job costs
• Quality-driven
• Dependable and responsive
• Someone who takes ownership rather than making excuses
Painting experience is strongly preferred but not required. Project management, construction, remodeling, or property-management experience is also valuable.
You must have reliable transportation and be comfortable traveling to job sites throughout the Birmingham area.
THIS IS A HANDS-ON POSITION
We're looking for someone who will actually visit job sites, inspect the work, communicate with customers, work with our subcontractors, and make sure everything is done right daily.
If your idea of project management is simply answering emails and checking a schedule, this probably isn't the job for you.
