PUBLISHED WRITER/EDITOR TEACHES STUDENTS TO WRITE BRILLIANTLY, ONLINE (everywhere online)

Some parents are concerned. The answer lies in current school priorities and methods. It is clear to see what is missing.
Look at what happens each day in any classroom from grade 3 through 12: Do you see teachers writing WITH children and teens - Do you see anyone teaching them HOW to construct strong sentences as the teachers do it also, with no incorrect verbs, no flat verbiage, and no lack of logic? Are teachers being role models who create text with high energy and vivid pictures? Can teachers write like pros?
And, how many minutes per day in any class does How to Write actually happen? Children are told: Write an Essay as an assignment and kids do it, hand it in, get no help with proofreading it and get a grade. Was how-to-write-well learned? No.
Like math, how to write well should be taught every day. Because it is not, our kids can't write. Even in English classes, much time is spent reading and analyzing stories. When writing is taught, a rubric is presented and must be followed. Yet, writing is not a mechanical process; it is a creative process. Telling students exactly what to write in each box, then joining the boxes does not an essay make. Creativity needed? Zero. Following a form is not creating an essay.
With Ms Sandy, the HOW TO happens at least one or two hours per week, online. She writes with your child in Google.docs.
