FRENCH CONVERSATION CLASSES — PASADENA
Don’t Be Perfect. Be Understood.
Authentic conversational French with a native French speaker
Small-group French conversation classes in a relaxed and welcoming environment at Entre Nous French Bistro in Pasadena.
$50 per person / 2-hour class ($25/hour)
Small groups
Monday evening classes + new morning classes being added
Different days/times available depending on interest
This is not a traditional French class focused on grammar exercises and memorizing rules.
The goal is simple: GET YOU SPEAKING FRENCH.
THE PHILOSOPHY
Don’t stop speaking because you don’t know the perfect word.
Find another way to say it. Describe it. Ask a question. Use the French you already have.
Keep talking. Keep communicating.
If you forget the French word for “umbrella,” for example, instead of immediately switching to English, try:
“The thing you use when it rains…”
You may not know the word, but you’re still communicating in French.
That’s the skill we work on.
Classes use conversation, games, real-life situations, everyday French expressions and exercises specifically designed to develop communication skills and make you more comfortable speaking spontaneously.
Mistakes are not only allowed — they’re expected.
A LITTLE ABOUT ME
I’m Jean-Christophe, a native French speaker from the South of France who has lived in Los Angeles for many years.
My background is in acting, entertainment and communication.
I recently began teaching French at the Alliance Française in Pasadena. I enjoyed teaching but quickly realized that I wanted to develop a different approach — much more focused on spontaneous conversation and helping people become comfortable actually using the French they already know.
A core group of my students decided to continue with me, which became our Monday evening class and eventually this growing French Conversation community.
Now I’m gradually adding additional morning and daytime classes.
CURRENT CLASSES
Monday evenings — Regular weekly conversation class
Thursday, October 8 — 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM — New morning class
I am also open to creating additional classes at different times.
