Nothing like this happens in classrooms: no classroom teacher can sit down with your child--even four times a week for 15 minutes--and give him/her uninterupted time. She cannot write with him/her, think with him/her, and expand his/her mind and natural talents. Ms Sandy does this once or twice/week, for 60 minutes. Children not only write better than they have in their lives, they have fun. They know they are learning fast, and they are proud of themseles. This teacher is on their side, never judging or criticizing. Always supporting and rewarding.
BTW, writing is not a separate subject about which we say, "I am good at writing" or "I am not good at writing." It is thinking. Plain and simple--it is being smart and making a record of our minds at work. The more children write, the deeper they must think. Problem-solving, creating visualizations with words, and growing their vocabulary all happen with regular, focused writing with Ms. Sandy.
She teaches English grammar, reading, phonics (lower grades), classic children's literature, poetry and vocab as people write. Children also use entertaining workbooks. This is not busywork; every lesson expands skills. (She avoids AI and does not allow children to use it. Studies show that it retards real learning.)
Online (Google.meet) meetings are productive. Google.docs are used for writing together and editing lessons. Weekly lessons are scheduled at the beginning of each month and payments are made with Zelle at classtime or before.
After thirty years of teaching, in elementary and university classrooms, in private language schools and in clients' home, Ms. Sandy knows how to entertain and challenge children from grade 3 through university. She has many students but always makes time for more, since she is a full-time, online instructor.
As a publisher of books on writing, she can teach researching, organizing, writing and editing to upper elementary, middle and high school students. Many study for SSAT, SAT, ISEE and other exams with her. (Writing/Reading/Vocab sections.)
Some families hire her for several children and they work together for many years. She becomes a resource for parents who often have special requests; she plans lessons that achieve them.
