I’m Róża Kostrzewska Yoder, founder and artistic director of Studio Chopin, a family-run classical piano studio established in Los Angeles in 1990. I trained at the Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw, Poland, including studies with renowned pianist and pedagogue Jan Ekier.
My teaching combines the distinguished Eastern European piano tradition with an individualized, supportive approach. Lessons may include:
• Healthy, relaxed piano technique
• Beautiful tone and musical interpretation
• Sight-reading, theory, and ear training
• Effective practicing and memorization
• Audition, competition, and college preparation
Studio Chopin students have won local, state, national, and international competitions and earned admission to institutions including Juilliard, Curtis, Yale, Harvard, Stanford, and UCLA.
Lessons are offered at our Northeast Los Angeles studio near Pasadena on high-quality grand pianos, including a nine-foot Steinway concert grand. In-home and online lessons may also be available. Students receive regular performance opportunities through studio concerts, festivals, and masterclasses.
We serve Pasadena, South Pasadena, San Marino, Alhambra, Highland Park, Eagle Rock, Glendale, and surrounding communities.
