A rare opportunity for the right person: join the household team of an accomplished, witty, and fiercely independent woman who happens to be a quadriplegic — and who is looking for long-term support.
Meet a successful philanthropist and well-known innovator in her Main Line community — sharp, socially engaged, and someone who expects the same from the people around her. This is a non-medical caregiving role woven with personal assistance, household coordination, and genuine companionship, for someone who is just as likely to have you at a Broadway show or lunch at Merion Golf Club as she is to have you tackling hands-on caregiving.
BOBIcares is proud to help source candidates for this position. The successful candidate will be hired as a 1099 to start before transitioning to a W2 employee after committing to payroll.
What Makes This Role Different
· A true long-term placement, not a revolving-door assignment
· A predictable live-in schedule, every other week — four days on, 10 days off: Sunday 9:00 PM – Thursday 12:00 PM
· Paid downtime built into the job — yes, that includes an afternoon nap, studying for an exam, or catching up on your favorite show
· A home environment that values discretion, intelligence, and personality as much as reliability
· She's active, curious, and genuinely fun to be around — this is relationship-driven work, not just task-driven work
What You'll Do
· Provide day-to-day personal care, including safe lifting and wheelchair transfers (~90 lbs, multiple times daily — full training provided)
· Support household management and light administrative work
· Accompany her to social, cultural, and community engagements
· Drive a wheelchair-accessible minivan for errands and outings
· Balance warmth and sociability with good judgment about when to step back
What We're Looking For
· Someone who presents well and communicates clearly, both written and verbal
· Warm, kind, and easygoing — with the discretion to handle a private household
· Physically able to perform transfers and lifting as described, after training
· Comfortable driving a minivan
· Non-smoker with a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
· Able to pass a background check, provide strong references, and confirm vaccination status
· BA/BS in progress or completed is a plus, not a requirement
· Genuine interest in a long-term commitment
Compensation & Benefits
· $480 per 24-hour shift ($20/hour)
· Annual pay increases
· Bonus pay opportunities
· Time-and-a-half for holidays worked
· Paid vacation days after a 90-day introductory period
