TRIC Robotics is hiring Field Operators to run our tractor-sized robots in strawberry fields in Oxnard/Ventura. No experience is required. We train you.
About the role
At TRIC we are helping farmers control pest and disease with less chemicals, using ultraviolet lights and vacuums instead.
You will operate and monitor our agricultural robots during overnight treatments, several nights per week. Each shift, you will set up the equipment, walk with the machine during treatment, and record what happens in the field. All data is logged and submitted through our phone app before the end of your shift.
When the robot has a problem, you are the person on site. You will identify the issue, resolve what you can, and report the rest to our engineering team. Operators often spot things our team cannot see from the office, and those observations lead directly to improvements in the machine.
Training
New operators shadow a trainer for 3 days until they are confident running the machine independently. You will build practical skills in robotics, hardware, and field data collection.
What we look for
Reliable and comfortable working overnight shifts
Attention to detail and consistent record-keeping
A problem-solving mindset when equipment does not behave as expected
Comfortable working outdoors in cold and wet conditions
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
English (verbal and written)
