I have this 55 horse Johnson. Electric shift runs fine. I need a smaller motor for this boat. It is too heavy for the back. If anybody has a newer style motor for trade, I will look at that also it comes with brand new shift cable and control unit. Everything works fine. I just need a smaller motor I go into a lot of tight backwaters
