A piece of dark petrified wood measuring 9’ in length and 3.5” in diameter. These pieces are very hard to find unless discovered on private property. Petrified wood forms when organic wood is buried in sediment and is gradually replaced by minerals, preserving its original structure in stone.
• Color and Texture: Dark brown to nearly black surface with deep vertical striations and natural longitudinal cracks.
• Openings: Distinct hollow knot holes and cavities running through the upper section, formed by decay or differential weathering.
• Material Feel: Densely packed, rigid structure that feels heavy and stone-like when petrified.
