NOW HIRING: Security Guard – Foot & Mobile Patrol
Location: San Marcos, CA, and surrounding areas
Job Type: Long-Term / Permanent
Hours: Up to 35 hours per week
Pay:$19.00 per hour
Schedule: Variable evening and nighttime shifts, generally 4–7 hours each
About the Position
We are seeking a reliable and professional security guard for a long-term position involving foot patrol at a church and cemetery, as well as mobile patrol at other local properties.
The ideal candidate must be comfortable working independently at night and maintain a respectful, approachable demeanor when interacting with visitors, groups, and staff.
Responsibilities
Conduct walking foot patrols of church and cemetery grounds.
Open gates and doors for scheduled groups as needed.
Check and lock doors and windows during closing, ensure air conditioning units and fans are turned off as required, and promptly report issues, malfunctions, or security concerns to the appropriate staff.
Monitor properties for suspicious activity and unauthorized access.
Handle security concerns calmly and professionally.
Perform mobile patrols at other assigned local properties and report incidents as required.
Requirements
Valid California Guard Card.
Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation to assigned work locations.
Clear verbal communication skills in English.
Ability to walk for extended periods and operate property gates.
Must be comfortable working independently during evening and nighttime shifts.
Must be available to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, with a variable schedule.
Must be a non-smoker and maintain a drug-free lifestyle.
Dependable, observant, and professional demeanor.
Transportation
All assigned properties are within approximately 15 miles of San Marcos. Applicants must be comfortable driving to assigned work locations as needed.
