I am the director of a local arts and culture non-profit here in Monterey, though my primary home is up in Berkeley.
While I often house sit locally for weeks at a time, I am looking to establish an ongoing, friendly arrangement with a local homeowner who has a spare guest room available for the occasional single night.
How it works:
* Frequency: 1 to 3 nights a month at most, scheduled in advance.
* The Scenarios: Typically, I need to stay over after hosting an evening community event so I don't have to drive back to the East Bay late at night, or the night before an early morning meeting.
* Footprint: Extremely low-impact. I arrive with a small overnight bag, attend my events, sleep, and head out early. I do not need kitchen privileges.
About Me:
* Seasoned non-profit professional, mature, exceptionally clean, quiet, and respectful.
* Experienced house sitter with glowing personal and local references.
* Comfortable in homes with pets, books, and quiet routines.
If you enjoy the hospitality of hosting and supporting community-minded cultural work, this might be an easy, pleasant fit for a spare room that otherwise sits empty.
If this sounds like an arrangement you'd be open to exploring, please send a brief note about your space and neighborhood. I am happy to meet for coffee locally or chat by phone. Full professional and personal references available upon request.
