This summer, my backyard accidentally turned into an urban chicken sanctuary as my neighbors and I rescued a couple of clutches of chicks from a small flock abandoned by another neighbor. They are thriving, but I can't keep them all. "Benedict" has Cream Legbar ancestry as evidenced by the cream-colored hackle feathers. He's friendly to me and respectful of the hens. At this young age, he'll integrate easily and make a fantastic flock protector. I'm willing to deliver him if you're not crazy far away—I really want to make sure he'll have a great new home.
