Hard-to-find Johnson 40 with a tiller handle. This is a short shaft and it turned out to be too short for my Western welded boat transom 😢. This is a 1987 model. The cowl/hood/engine cover has a scuff on it that could use some patch/paint and the cowl seal is dried out so it's pretty hard to put the cowl back on once you pop it off. They don't make a replacement seal anymore but I know that some folks have improvised to use other materils for replacing it.
Other than the aforementioned, this engine is an amazing condition aesthetically and mechanically. I put a new prop on it and ran it in the river. This thing has a ton of power and that satisfying two-stroke growl. I Have not had it serviced/tuned (recommended) but it runs well as it sits. You will NOT be disappointed!
