I have a beautiful used Yashica Electro 35 G rangefinder 35mm camera with a DX 45mm f/1.7 lens in near mint physical condition. The shutter blades are free of oil. The lens looks scratch free and clear. The film compartment is clean and the light seals appear to be in excellent condition.. The body appears perfect. The rangefinder works perfect and the viewing windows are bright and clear and focuses to infinity. The battery compartment is very clean.
It does not have the "pad of death" (look it up). There a click sound when the advance lever is advanced.

However, when I inserted a new battery and adapter (not included), the battery check did not light up. I did a search and the most common reason is that the wire in the battery compartment is broken or corroded. The previous own may have known since a screw is missing on the bottom and was seeing if the wire would be reconnected. So the light meter indication does not work.
I would not be able to fix this myself.
