ACE Industries is an established commercial carpentry and drywall contractor seeking a reliable, responsible, and organized Van Driver / Warehouse Assistant for daily material deliveries, equipment transportation, warehouse organization, and tool management.
We are looking for a hardworking, dependable individual who takes pride in their work, properly maintains company vehicles and equipment, and keeps the warehouse and yard clean, organized, and running efficiently.
A VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE WITH A CLEAN DRIVING RECORD IS REQUIRED.
RESPONSIBILITIES
DRIVING & DELIVERIES
Drive company van to deliver and pick up construction materials, tools, and equipment.
Make daily deliveries to construction jobsites throughout NYC, Westchester, Connecticut (CT), and Long Island.
Pick up materials and supplies from vendors and distributors.
Safely load, secure, transport, and unload materials and equipment.
Verify deliveries against purchase orders and delivery tickets.
Coordinate daily deliveries and pickups with office staff and jobsite foremen.
VEHICLE & EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE
Keep the assigned company van clean, organized, and properly maintained at all times.
Perform daily vehicle inspections, including tires, fluids, lights, and general condition.
Immediately report any vehicle damage, mechanical issues, or maintenance needs.
Handle all company tools, materials, and equipment with care to prevent damage or loss.
Ensure equipment is properly secured during transportation.
Take responsibility for the proper care and handling of company property.
WAREHOUSE, YARD & TOOL ORGANIZATION
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse and yard.
Organize tools, equipment, construction materials, and supplies in designated storage areas.
Track tools and equipment being delivered to and returned from jobsites.
Maintain an accurate tool sign-out and return system.
Inspect returned tools and equipment for damage or missing items.
Assist with maintaining accurate tool and material inventory.
Receive deliveries, stock materials, and keep warehouse shelves organized.
Keep warehouse, yard, and loading areas clean and free of clutter.
REQUIREMENTS - VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE WITH A CLEAN DRIVING RECORD — MANDATORY.
Must pass a motor vehicle record (MVR) check and meet company insurance requirements.
No DUI/DWI or serious driving violations.
Previous experience driving cargo vans or similar commercial vehicles.
Familiarity with NYC, Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Westchester, CT, and Long Island.
Ability to lift, load, and unload construction materials and equipment.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Must be responsible and take proper care of company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
Construction or warehouse experience preferred.
Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively.
