Greco meticulously built these guitars sourcing high quality woods that will never be seen again. They utilized construction techniques that rivaled and often exceeded the quality of Gibson guitars from any era. It's a sought-after and rare transitional guitar made during the change from the Super Real models which ended in '81 and the first year of the Mint Collection models which began in '82. As such it has a many of the features of the EGF850 Super Real along with the more period-correct characteristics and accurate to a burst applied to the EG59-85 Mint Collection guitar.
A pre-CNC solid Honduran mahogany body, a no heel cap and a medium C shaped neck. The pots are 500k volume (504072/18k linear taper/Aug ’81) and 500k tone (504042/18k audio taper/Aug ’81). It has the original PAF sounding Fujigen DOUBLE TRICK 1982 alnico V pups (7.07k neck, 7.04k bridge) which were one tier lower than their top-of-the-line DRY 1982 pups. A cherry sunburst lacquer finish, beautiful flame laminated 2 piece Canadian maple top, Indian rosewood fingerboard, almost no fret wear, fret edge binding, aluminum tailpiece, and long tenon neck joint. Neck thickness is 22.1mm/0.87" at the 1st fret and 24.8mm/0.97" at the 12th fret. Weighs 9.60 lbs/4.35kg.
All original with exception of Greco tuners from a different Greco guitar and a Switchcraft output jack. A few dings and scratches with metal parts that have the honest patina that comes with a well-played 44 year old guitar.
