Urgent: Seeking Legal Help for a 75-Year-Old Father and His Son
A man recovering from a stroke, and is heartbroken over being separated from his adult son, who has autism. Legal system is using his stroke as grounds to remove his son, even though he has recovered most of his abilities since the stroke. He's walking and has been going to speech therapy, and is capable of continuing care for his son. He also has a community of helpers standing by his side.
Fighting for his adult son with autism that he has raised as a single father from the time he was a baby, and they have always shared a close bond. Their separation during the current conservatorship proceedings has taken a serious emotional toll on both of them. Father just wants to spend his remaining years with the son he has raised and loved, dedicated and built his life around. Time together is precious to them.
We are urgently seeking a California attorney to help them navigate a Los Angeles County conservatorship case that also involves an existing New Jersey guardianship. Experience with conservatorships, disability rights, or interstate guardianship matters would be especially helpful.
Pro bono assistance would mean so much. If that is not possible, the father and those supporting him are willing to contribute what they can afford and would welcome reduced fees or a manageable payment plan. Even a consultation or referral could make a meaningful difference.
We are in the Montclair/Inland Empire area, and the case is in Los Angeles County. Court documents and further details can be shared privately with an attorney considering helping.
If you can help—or know someone who might—please send me a private message. Please help this father and son protect their bond and make the most of their years together. Thank you.
